Hello! My name is Emily. I value living a quality life. To me, that means having a high-level of flexibility with my time, being financially free, creating – growing and making things from nothing, and recreating regularly in the most local wilderness areas around me. Each and every one of these aspects require discipline to achieve and sacrifice in other areas to possess. But for me, all other aspects of my life serve these values. My hope with this blog is to balance inspiration with function and that my posts will stir you to create in your home kitchen, provide you with tools to help you manage your kitchen well, and give you recipes to feed your weekly menu plan.
My husband and I live between the Puget Sound and the Cascade Mountains in Washington. We have one little girl, Emmy Rose, who was born in 2022 and already in heaven. Her little life has inspired, validated, and motivated action toward crafting our lives around the things we value most. We have a German Shorthaired Pointer, Scout, who is daily accountability for outdoor recreation. He keeps us walking every day and serves us well in the Fall/Winter with his enthusiasm and innate skill for waterfowl and upland hunting.
